Efeitos da Prevenção Criminal pelo Design Ambiental (CPTED) no Medo do Crime Pessoal e Altruísta

A Prevenção do Crime por Meio do Design Ambiental (CPTED) constitui uma abordagem popular de planejamento urbano para o enfrentamento dos crimes reais e percebidos. Por exemplo, o modelo é amplamente utilizado para recuperar bairros degradados que possuem problemas quanto à segurança pública. O presente estudo tem por objetivo examinar as relações complexas entre a CPTED e o medo do crime em suas dimensões pessoal e altruísta. Para tanto, por meio de survey aplicada de modo online, a pesquisa contou com 232 respondentes para uma versão aprimorada da Escala de Medo Situacional do Crime (Senna, 2017). Os achados indicam que o padrão dos escores do medo do crime presentes na literatura internacional se repetem na realidade brasileira, além de se mostrarem sensíveis às nuances da CPTED. O trabalho possui implicações teóricas, metodológicas e práticas, podendo contribuir para o planejamento de políticas públicas relacionadas ao modelo CPTED, bem como para a saúde física e mental da comunidade.
