Efectos del CPTED sobre el miedo personal y altruista al crimen

Resumen

La prevención del crimen mediante el diseño ambiental (CPTED) representa un enfoque ampliamente reconocido en el ámbito de la planificación urbana para abordar tanto los delitos reales como los percibidos. Este modelo se utiliza de manera significativa para la rehabilitación de barrios en situación de degradación, especialmente aquellos que enfrentan serias problemáticas relacionadas con la seguridad pública. El presente estudio se distingue de otras investigaciones sobre el tema, ya que tiene como objetivo explorar las complejas interrelaciones entre la CPTED y el miedo al crimen en sus dimensiones personal y altruista. Para tal fin, se aplicó una encuesta en línea, la cual fue respondida por 232 participantes, utilizando una versión adaptada y mejorada de la Escala de Miedo Situacional al Crimen (Senna, 2017). Los resultados obtenidos revelan que los patrones de los puntajes de miedo al crimen, identificados en la literatura internacional, se replican en el contexto brasileño, mostrando además una notable sensibilidad a las particularidades de la implementación de la CPTED. Este estudio tiene importantes implicaciones teóricas, metodológicas y prácticas, ya que puede contribuir al desarrollo de políticas públicas centradas en el modelo CPTED, así como a la mejora de la salud física y mental de las comunidades.
