RBSP has distinguished itself internationally by publishing articles by authors from various institutions around the world. Among the countries represented are the United States, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Chile, England, France, Mozambique, Mexico, Germany and others. In Latin America, Argentina and Chile have established particularly significant links with RBSP. Meanwhile, prominent authors from Europe originate mainly in Spain, Portugal and England. From the African continent, countries such as Cape Verde, Mozambique and South Africa have made their presence felt with their contributions. Notably, the United States leads the way in the number of authors from institutions based in its territory, reflecting a substantial commitment to publishing in RBSP.

Historical Rejection Rate and Acceptance Rate

The percentage for the selected period is calculated for submissions that were submitted during that period and received a final decision. For example, consider the case where ten submissions were made during that period. Four were accepted, four were rejected, and two are still waiting for a final decision. The acceptance rate will be 50% (4 of 8 submissions) because the two submissions that did not reach a final decision are not counted.

In the period between 02/01/2025 e 01/01/2026 the Revista Brasileira de Segurança Pública had a Rejection Rate of 93% and an Approval Rate of 7% of the submitted articles. Of the rejected articles, 64% were rejected upon entry, while 29% were rejected after the reviewers' evaluation.

The data presented indicate the number of days it takes for most submissions to receive a first editorial decision, such as rejection on entry or submission for evaluation. These figures indicate that 80% of submissions reach the decision within the given number of days. This statistic attempts to describe at what point most authors submitting to the journal can expect a decision. In addition, the average number of days for a text submitted to the journal to be approved for publication, i.e., to have passed peer review, to have met all suggestions made, and for the editor-in-chief's decision to publish the text, is presented.
