This review aims to present and summarize the main arguments of Public Security, Networks and Governance, by Arthur Trindade Maranhão Costa. The book analyzes public security in Brazil by focusing on the interaction of various public and private actors organized in policy networks. Over the course of seven chapters, the author analyzes the dynamics of the security field, the limits of state governance, police operations, and the challenges in designing effective public policies. The work contributes to broadening the debate on security in democratic contexts and proposes paths for improvement without resorting to simplistic or authoritarian solutions.
