Peer Review Process
Double-Blind Peer Review
The peer review system is adopted by the Revista Brasileira de Segurança Pública in its editorial process of reviewing submitted works, both for regular and special editions. This mechanism is part of the scientific certification of the articles, involving a double blind peer review. The process in question is carried out by external ad hoc collaborators, suggested by our Scientific Editors or by the Editorial Team. This mechanism consists of the evaluation of the papers by at least two collaborators, who do not have access to the authors of the respective papers, ensuring the impartiality of the reviewer and supporting the evaluation to the quality criteria of the academic community.
Referee Evaluation Form
The evaluators fill out the following form after reading the works sent to them indicating whether the evaluated paper should be accepted, accepted with mandatory corrections, submitted to another journal, or rejected. Based on the opinions, the editorial decision is issued by the journal's editor-in-chief or assistant editor. It is important to clarify that if the evaluations indicate different positions in relation to the evaluated work, the respective text is sent to a third evaluator.
